Marcelena 2001 Napa Valley Merlot

Nice, even merlot.  From the label: “The nose is highlighted with sweet berries and anise with notes of toast.” Talk about a wine description that can give one an inferiority complex: I have to admit that I needed to look up anise in Wikipedia, at which point I learned that it was a phytoestrogen.  Well alrighty then; hopefully this wine does not give me hot flashes.
